God’s Stand on How to Stay Persistent

God wants us to become persistent in our walk with Him.
Only in our persistence can we see more and have more of God in us. It’s the attitude of persistence that helps us keep our faith fixed on God when everything around keeps screaming; “give up.”
Jesus told a parable about the benefits of Persistence in Luke 18:1-8.
From the parable, there lived a widow who had been mistreated and needed justice for her case. Unfortunately, she had to face an unjust judge who cared about nobody, not even God.
It became clear that this judge wasn’t ready to attend to her case and gave her deaf ears.
This kind of treatment from the judge was enough to make this widow give up on the case and accept it as her fate.
Many like the widow have tried their best, prayed, and done everything within their strength to achieve results to no avail. Hence, they’ve given up on learning how to stay persistent.
How to Stay Persistent, the Key to Winning!

The woman in the above text refused to give up, but shield herself with persistence and kept coming to the judge to avenge her case.
When the unjust judge saw that she wasn’t ready to relent, he was forced to grant her her request.
And for a time he would not; but later he said to himself, Though I have neither reverence nor fear for God nor respect or consideration for man, Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she gives me intolerable annoyance and wears me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me.—Luke 18:4-5.
The widow’s relentless attitude paid off. If this widow could do it, you can also do it irrespective of the situation you find yourself in.
Going through hard times? Here is my recommended guide to get back on track
How to Stay Persistent Begins with Prayers

You learn how to stay persistent in the place of prayer.
Whenever it looks as if things aren’t working, don’t conclude the end has come—choose to keep praying over that situation, trusting God for a solution.
Furthermore, beyond granting the request of the widow the unjust judge made a statement addressing the believers;
And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf? I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?—Luke 18:7-8
This implies that if an unjust judge could be moved by persistence, our God who is just can do more.
All that’s needed to grant your request is in the hands of the Lord. But, have you learned how to stay persistent in seeking Him day and night?
How to Stay Persistent Works with Your Faith

When Jesus returns will He still find us waiting for Him?
We need to be persistent in seeking the Lord. It’s true so many distractions are out there in the world to make us drift away from our faith. But, we must choose to remain steadfast with the Lord.
It doesn’t matter what you’re going through right now, God is ready to come to your aid speedily if you remain steadfast in faith.
Remember the story of Job in the Bible, how he lost everything he had in one day?
He loved God and lived an upright life but couldn’t explain what was happening to him. His wife and friends advised him to cause God and die.
But, Job chose to wait upon the Lord to come to his rescue where he boldly declared;
[I do it because, though He slays me, yet will I wait for and trust Him and] behold, He will slay me; I have no hope–nevertheless, I will maintain and argue my ways before Him and even to His face.—Job 13:15.
In the end, Job was victorious and recovered all he had lost!
Final Thoughts on How to Stay Persistent
Job was persistent in his faith and trust in the Lord. He wasn’t ready to give up so soon on God. And even though it seems like God had forgotten him, he was still confident in his trust in God.
That’s the type of persistence in faith and trust in God that’s required from us.
So, when everything seems to tell you to give up, choose to remain steadfast—God won’t disappoint you!
