You’ve probably heard people say God is able many times, yet it can still feel difficult to truly believe it for yourself. 

We read about the miracles of Moses, Elijah, Joshua, Jesus, and the heroes of faith in Scripture—and we rejoice—but deep inside, we sometimes wonder if God still moves that way today.

One thing is certain: God never changes! Because He is unchanging, eternal, and ageless, everything He has done before, He can do again. 

That is the confidence behind the truth that God is able. Learning how to trust God for the impossible begins with understanding His character.

Why Belief Matters in Experiencing God’s Power

It’s easy to celebrate testimonies and still doubt your own. But when God looks at you, He sees His child—someone He deeply loves, guides, and desires to help. 

If some situations in your life have reached a human limit, that’s when the assurance that God is able becomes real.

Jesus said in Luke 1:37, “Nothing is impossible with God.” 

Let that settle in your heart. Every word God has spoken carries power. Even when it seems delayed, it’s simply waiting for its appointed time. Understanding how to trust God for the impossible allows you to hold on during those waiting seasons.

Your Life May Look Delayed, but God Is Still Able

Maybe you’re waiting on God concerning your health, marriage, finances, job, business, or calling. Maybe everything looks quiet, and you’re tempted to quit. Don’t. 

What feels impossible to you is still possible because God is able to bring every promise to fulfillment.

One reason many believers don’t see the manifestation of God’s word is doubt. That’s why learning how to trust God for the impossible requires strengthening your faith through His Word, prayer, and obedience.

Complete Trust: The Pathway to Seeing What God Can Do

‭Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 calls us to trust God with all our hearts—not partially, not halfway. Partial trust slows down God’s work; complete trust signals full surrender.

God wants to guide you step by step. When you trust Him fully, He makes your path straight. And trusting Him becomes easier the more you understand how to trust God for the impossible through intimacy with Him and reliance on His Spirit.

Stop Staring at Your Circumstances

Sometimes we doubt that God is able because we focus too much on our problems. 

Scripture reminds us to walk by faith, not by sight. Fear grows when we focus on the physical; faith grows when we focus on God.

Even when you feel tired or discouraged, giving up isn’t the solution. Turning to alternatives outside Christ won’t help. However, holding on to God and learning how to trust God for the impossible is your pathway to victory.

God Is Able to Do Above What You Can Imagine

Ephesians 3:20 describes God as the One who can do far beyond our prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, and dreams. The power to accomplish these things is in Him and works through us.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”—‭Ephesians 3:20

Remaining aligned with the Spirit of God, positions you for His intervention. A contrary influence cannot produce God’s results. When the Holy Spirit is active in you, you experience the supernatural reality that God is able to do beyond your imagination. 

If You Desire God’s Spirit, Pray This

If you’re unsure whether the Holy Spirit lives in you, pray:

Father, I believe You sent Jesus to reconcile me back to You. I receive the salvation He gave through His blood. Fill me with Your Spirit—the Spirit of truth who confirms that I belong to You. Dwell in me and guide my life. Amen.

With His Spirit in you, you can walk confidently knowing that God is able to move supernaturally in your life.

Pray, Believe, Give Thanks — and Trust That God Is Able

Whenever you pray, believe that God hears you. Unbelief is one of the biggest obstacles to receiving from Him. 

Thanksgiving, however, is a powerful expression of faith. Instead of worrying or complaining, choose gratitude—even before the testimony arrives.

Hold this truth close: God is able to do what you can’t do, handle what you can’t handle, and fix what you can’t fix. 

Learning how to trust God for the impossible transforms your heart to expect His miraculous intervention.
